Anna-Karina is a communications strategist whose work focuses on advancing disability inclusion and accessibility. Her storytelling has been recognized across Canada and internationally by organizations including the International Association of Business Communicators, the Canadian Screen Academy and Citizen Advocacy.
She hosted the award-winning program Canada in Perspective, the country’s first current affairs TV series exploring issues surrounding disability. She produced and directed the acclaimed documentary film Talent Untapped about the value of hiring and developing people with disabilities. A former journalist, she filed stories for CBC, CTV and CNN.
Drawing on her journalistic training, she created and delivered a unique program for aspiring journalists and presenters with disabilities for AMI-TV. Prior to that, she delivered a highly-rated media training and crisis response module for the Canadian Police College.
Most recently, Anna-Karina was Head of Communications for Sodexo Canada, supporting four business lines and 14,000 employees. She led thought leadership campaigns on gender parity, disability inclusion and Indigenous economic reconciliation. Previously, she was the corporate spokesperson for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, leading crisis and issues management, executive communications and government relations during the organization’s start-up phase.
